FinancialThe proportion of under-30s buying homes has fallen to its lowest level on record - just 3 percent became a homeowner in June. That compares to 48 percent of buyers being aged 31 to 40, according to the National Association of Estate Agents. Meanwhile the number of first-time buyers accounted for a fifth of sales in June, down from a quarter in May.

NewsParents who fail to prevent their daughters being subjected to female genital mutilation could face prosecution. New laws are being announced by the government at a Girl Summit, being held in London today. Teachers, doctors and social workers will be trained to identify girls potentially at risk. Senegalese musician and FGM survivor Sister Fa believes the summit can achieve a lot.

ShowbizThe stars of Marvel's next big thing - "Guardians of the Galaxy" - have hit the red carpet in Hollywood for the world premiere. The cast for the summer blockbuster includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper. The space adventure is based on the comic book of the same name. Huge crowds turned out for the screening - and Chris says he's overwhelmed.  


Trent Sport

SportEngland captain Alastair Cook admits his senior players aren't contributing enough ahead of today's announcement of the squad for the third Test with India. They lost by 95 runs at Lord's to go 1-0 down in the series, with Cook affirming he wants to stay on as skipper despite their poor form. He says no-one should be complacent about their position. Wicketkeeper Matt Prior won't feature in the squad having decided to take a break from the game due to a number of injuries.

Emperor Rosko brought his Atlantic style to BBC Radio 1 in the 1970s and was highly successful. Trent Sound has his new radio programmes 'L A Connection' on Saturdays 14.00 - 16.00 & 'Coast Country' on Sundays 11.00 - 13.00, only on Nottingham's Trent Sound.
