People suspected of trying to avoid inheritance tax could have to pay before they die under proposals being considered by ministers. HM Revenue and Customs could demand "accelerated payment" where savers are using potentially illegal avoidance schemes. The measures - at the consultation stage - are a response to concerns some people are using trusts to shield their estates from inheritance tax.

Former boxing promoter Frank Maloney, who's living as a woman, says her transgender struggle led her to try to attempt suicide. The 61-year-old, now known as Kellie, guided boxer Lennox Lewis to lift the world heavyweight boxing title during a successful career. She's told the Mirror she couldn't cope with leading a double life.


Trent Showbiz

The revamped Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has done so well that a second film is going to be made. The studio - Paramount - was impressed by estimated takings of 65 million dollars in the U.S. in its opening weekend. The same 2 screenwriters, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, will be involved in the sequel. It's due out in June 2016.


Trent Sport

USA rugby league international Mark Offerdahl is to join Bradford for the 2015 Super League campaign. The forward has signed a one year deal. Offerdahl was born in Australia, and began the current season at Championship side North Wales Crusaders before moving back to Australia to play for St George Illawarra.
