Volunteer at Trent Sound

We have a range of exciting opportunities for anyone looking for a stimulating and challenging voluntary role.

There are many things at Trent Sound that you can help with, rather than listing all the different areas and creating a mile long list - we’ve decided to list one specific area each week, so if the details of this volunteer role don’t interest you, next week’s vacancy might!

LOCAL SPORT JOURNALIST

We are keen to improve our sports coverage on Trent Sound.  At this time, we have hourly sports news (both national and local) and on Saturdays we present a three hour live sports programme which aims to focus on our local teams.

As things stand football-wise, we cover Nottingham Forest & Notts County, they both have dedicated pages on our website here for Forest and here for County.

One of the concepts behind Trent Sound is that we aim to give a voice to the under-represented, in sport we feel this translates well to teams which are not given media exposure and don’t have the resources to issue daily press releases etc.

We are particularly keen to cover Bulwell Town, Eastwood Town & Hucknall Town both on our website and in our local sports news.

We want to create separate webpages on this website for all of these teams, but we cannot do this without active participation from the clubs themselves, or ideally, a die-hard fan who is able and willing to write material for the page, submit photographs, team fixtures, injuries, squad/team and new signings etc.

If any of this interests you, please email sport@trentsound.com and we can make this happen.

If you would like to get involved in writing sport updates for any of the teams we already cover, this too would be great and if there’s a local team which we haven't mentioned please get in touch about that too.

Trent Sound is all about grass roots community involvement, we do not have pots of money to spend on these projects which is the reason these are volunteer positions, but unlike some of the existing stations, we are passionate about our city and, with your help, we can make Trent Sound into a truly local service which serves the area and the website will become a focal point with a wealth of useful, relevant community information which is unavailable elsewhere on the internet.
