But as they soon find out a picture has the ability to conceal a few hidden horrors and the extent of luxury at this hotel is of past existence. Miles from the culture and comfort they are used to, they are encouraged by the more enthusiastic guests to make the best of a bad situation. By exploring their surroundings they share some great experiences and create treasured memories whilst becoming friends for life.

This smooth and soulful Jazz artist has a lot to show for his success and explains how he has become one of Britain’s most successful international soul and jazz artists. With a portfolio of seven albums that he recorded and produced on his own label Rugged Ram Records; Ola Onabule is one to see.
He’ll be at The Playhouse this Friday to help you unwind and get ready for the weekend. With Folk music becoming more main stream and gaining the attention of many audiences it’s a great time for some of the best of Folk to arrive in Nottingham.
This Saturday, The Demon Barber Roadshow will be performing at The Playhouse, giving you an all rounded show of music and dance. Through their energetic attitude and inspirational music you’ll be dancing in your seats as this British Folk group explore their range and showcase their talent by using traditional acoustic instruments blended with a tight rhythm they manage to create some exceptional and unique music. With the inclusion of some exciting traditional dancers it promises to be an upbeat and energetic gig. Credited as winners of ‘Best Live Act’ at the BBC 2 Folk awards in 2009 you better be there to find out what all the fuss is about!

FOLK AT THE GLEE CLUB

If that’s not enough folk music for you then at The Glee Club this Saturday they’ve got not just one act but three fantastic folk artists taking to the stage. Michael McGoldrick, John McCusker and John Doyle are the inspirational musicians who will be performing and treating you to a set of their individual talent and interpretation of folk music.
Mancunian, Michael McGoldrick has been awarded with a number of BBC 2 awards during his career and currently leads the Michael McGoldrick band. He boasts many musical talents as he plays the flute, the tin whistle, the Uilleann pipes and the low whistle.
John McCusker is from Scotland and as well as being a singer, a record producer and a composer he is an accomplished musician and fiddle player. He now performs solo but was a member of the Battlefield Band in the 90’s.
John Doyle is an incredibly established and important musician within Irish music. As an accomplished guitar player he has developed a trademark style that he uses when performing solo or when backing other musicians. He has many song writing credits and will be performing songs from his album Shadow and Light which was a 2011 release. Entry to this gig is from 18.45 but there will be no entry after 19.15. HAPPY AND GLORIOUS: THE THEATRE ROYAL

To mark the year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee the Theatre Royal are holding a special evening hosted by Jennie Bond in celebration of the momentous occasion. The former Royal Correspondent and broadcaster will take the audience through some much loved music from across Britain over the last 60 years.
Take a step back in time as music will include the likes of Land of Hope and Glory, Danny Boy, White Cliffs of Dover, Scotland the Brave and Jerusalem. See which cast members you recognise in clips from some classic British Television and Radio such as Coronation Street, Last of the Summer Wine, Morcambe and Wise and The Archers. After all of that there will tributes to the Honours list with Summer Holiday, Any Dream Will Do and The Floral Dance.
